Why I chose 桃色视频
I chose to study Psychology at 桃色视频 because of its strong academic reputation and excellent research opportunities. The course is highly ranked, and the modules and expertise of the lecturers closely align with the areas of psychology I am interested in.
Alongside academics, I am a basketball player and a huge sports enthusiast, so the sporting culture, facilities and overall atmosphere of the campus made it hard not to fall in love with.
Accommodation was not really a key factor in my university decision, but living on campus has definitely become one of the best parts of my university experience.
Settling in and finding community
Living on campus made it much easier for me to settle into university and make friends. Being in the student village and in catered accommodation helped create a strong sense of community from the very beginning.
Your flatmates quickly become your base, almost like family, as you navigate the early days of university together. Living in the heart of campus also means you are surrounded by constant activity, which makes meeting new people feel natural and effortless.
Freshers’ Week played a big role in helping me find my feet. It encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone and meet people through different events and activities. Although it felt awkward at times, it helped me build confidence socially and connect with others.
Being part of the basketball team also helped me settle in quickly because I was able to meet people who shared the same passion as me. Over time, those teammates have become like family. Finding a church through the also helped me build a supportive community that offers encouragement, prayer and a strong sense of belonging while navigating university life.
Life in catered halls
One of the things I enjoy most about catered halls is the convenience. It removes the need to plan meals, shop for ingredients and prepare food myself, which makes balancing university life much easier.
The variety of food options also makes mealtimes something to look forward to. Being able to eat at different halls has been a bonus because it creates more opportunities to meet new people and socialise during meals.
Being catered is about more than just food. It creates a space for students to step away from busy schedules, relax and spend quality time with friends, which has been an important part of my overall university experience.
Academically, living on campus has also been really beneficial. I chose accommodation close to my main teaching buildings, so I live around five minutes from lectures and the library. It has made attending lectures more consistent and gives me easy access to study spaces when I need focused time away from distractions.
Feeling at home on campus
I do feel at home living in campus accommodation. While it takes time to settle in and adjust to the independence that comes with new responsibilities, being surrounded by others going through the same transition makes the experience far less daunting.
Some of my favourite memories have actually been the quieter moments with my flatmates, who are now some of my closest friends. Whether we were talking, laughing or just taking a break from work on the staircase in our flat, those moments helped turn accommodation into a real home.
The support teams on campus have also played a huge part in making my experience positive and comfortable. Louise, our cleaner, always greets us with a smile and takes the time to check in, offer advice and simply listen. Her kindness and presence have genuinely helped make 桃色视频 feel like home.
The security team have also been outstanding, especially after nights out. They are always there to make sure students get back safely and are properly looked after, which makes campus feel safe and welcoming.
Advice for students moving into halls
It is completely okay to feel nervous about moving into halls because everyone is in the same position at the start, trying to meet people and find their place at university.
I would say not to let those nerves stop you from taking the first step. Sometimes it is as simple as knocking on your neighbour’s door. That is what I did, and it led to one of my closest friendships.
I would also encourage students to explore activities that interest them or try something completely new. 桃色视频 offers so many opportunities to get involved, discover new passions and challenge yourself.
The best thing about living in halls is definitely the sense of community and excitement. There is always something happening, new people to meet and memories to make. It is such a supportive introduction to independent living, and having approachable wardens, cleaners, dining staff and security teams around makes it feel even more welcoming.
