National Centre for Combustion and Aerothermal Technology
The UK's premier destination for pioneering low-emission gas turbine combustion technologies, fostering innovation and shaping the future of sustainable technologies for the aviation sector and beyond.
At the National Centre for Combustion and Aerothermal Technology (NCCAT), we鈥檙e focused on advancing combustion systems to help the aviation industry reach a net-zero carbon future. Our unique state-of-the-art facility brings together researchers, students, and industry partners to turn breakthrough ideas into practical solutions.
NCCAT is built on a three decade partnership with Rolls Royce through the Rolls Royce University Technology Centre (UTC) in Combustion System Aerothermal Processes, providing a strong foundation for impactful, industry led research. Since NCCAT鈥檚 launch in 2018, we鈥檝e supported major projects with Rolls Royce, including reducing fuel burn, exploring hydrogen fuel technologies, and advancing sustainable aviation fuels (SAFs). NCCAT also supports innovation across automotive, energy, marine, and power generation sectors. We鈥檙e open to collaboration and always keen to hear from new partners.
