Reimagining Pride: Queer Memory and Activism on Film (LGBT+ Pride Month)
As part of our LGBT+ Pride Month celebrations, this talk explores the relationship between cinema and queer community memory. What role does film play in how we imagine queer histories? How does it influence how we think of our past? In answering these questions, this talk will draw on Horvat's book 'Screening Queer Memory: LGBTQ Pasts in Contemporary Film and Television', and will look at how cinema has represented queer activism.
