Research participants needed: Free performance testing (VO2max/Lactate)

I am looking for cyclists and triathletes (male or female) who ride at least three times a week. You will receive a full physiological profile鈥攊ncluding VO2max, Lactate Threshold, and HR zones鈥攁nd will also be financially compensated for your time.

We are recruiting for an exciting research study at the University that will investigate how maximal oxygen uptake (VO2max), lactate thresholds and exercise economy/efficiency drift during moderate-intensity (below the lactate threshold) and heavy-intensity (above the lactate threshold) cycling exercise.

These are typically assessed in a ‘fresh’ state where the athlete has not undertaken endurance exercise. There has recently been great interest in understanding how these endurance performance predictors change over the course of endurance exercise, with less negative 'drifts' in these variables termed 'durability'. The mechanisms that may cause the changes in durability with endurance exercise are currently unclear. This study will assess how completing the same amount of work of moderate-intensity exercise and heavy-intensity exercise influences durability and the mechanisms that contribute to this.

We need endurance-trained individuals to participate in this study. There are also Amazon vouchers (£50/visit = £200 total if you complete the study) to compensate you for your time in volunteering for the study. In addition, you will receive detailed information on your endurance physiology, including VO2max, lactate thresholds, exercise economy/efficiency and muscle fibre type.
